One of the more complicated areas of the game is around the Airship and its abilities. Located in the top left of your castle map is the Airship Dock. Here you can build abilities, and tweak them through enhancements. You can also hire a second airship for a limited time, although I have not yet found need to do this.

I’ll be looking at building abilities in this article. Selecting the dock may present you with something like this;

Now I have developed my airship to level 35 by this point, so I have accumulated a fair number of abilities and components to build them up. Assault abilities are for your offensive capabilities. Guardian are for your defensive and resource gathering capabilities. Select an ability from either the Assault or Guardian sides. You will then see this, or something like it;

If your airship is higher than the level shown here, and you have enough components, you will be able to upgrade the ability. You can also reset the ability back to one, getting back all the components that were used. Now be careful what abilities you build here because later we will see that you can’t use all of them. Just a few, so build strategically.

Now here’s the important part; Assigning Abilities. As I said before, building up abilities alone won’t give you the benefits you’re looking for. You have to assign them to the airship itself in the Assign Abilities screen which is the button bottom right in the screen from before. It’ll take you here.

You have four areas for modes accessible through the four tabs along the top. Attack, Defense, Gathering, and Beast. There will be different abilities for each group that can be allocated. Only those that you allocate here will give a buff to your airship and troops. To assign an ability, you just select it from the list underneath. There is no order to this, just add them one by one. If you need to remove an ability, click it in the section above, and you will have the option to remove it. As your airship increases in level, you be able to add more abilities to a maximum of eight for each group.

Now you are probably wondering about those other elements below the assigned abilities. These are parts and can add various boosts to you airship overall. Once you have access to the spirit mines (castle level 16) you can purchase these parts from the Mining Loot shop where you can redeem your spirit crystals, as shown below. Here you can buy Bronze (green) and Silver (blue) parts outright. You can also purchase Gold (purple) fragments that can be synthesised into Gold parts. Gold parts can be upgrade to two additional levels, rare and epic. There are also platinum parts but I as yet haven’t seen those. All parts can be upgraded to different levels through the refining of unused parts in your inventory, like you would do gems for your lord’s equipment.

To allocate a part to the airship, you select the part section in the assign abilities screen, and if you have an available part for that slot, you will be able to equip it, as shown below.

Not you can also upgrade from this screen, and even dismantle. I you select a slot that is already with a part, you will see this instead.

This way you can remove a part without dismantling it. Dismantling will of course destroy the part into new material.

When you want to upgrade a component, you well first see this. You may need to scroll down a little to see the important section, the requirements areas. This is the parts of dismantled parts, and how many you will need to upgrade this part. Dismantling any part, regardless of type (bronze, silver, etc) will provide components needed to upgrade your parts.

That is, in a egg-shell, a quick overview on Airship Abilities, and how to upgrade your abilities. The right combination can add a significant boost to your troops, and gathering capabilities. Later we will look at enhancements, and airship classes.
